Far from the Madding CrowD

Went to see the latest film version of the Thomas Hardy classic Saturday.

It’s a good movie. oddly, though, in that early scene where the sheep are herded over the cliff by the bad sheepdog, the lady sitting next to me exclaimed that she didn’t like that scene.

Hello? It’s Hardy. And if you’ve lived to adulthood without knowing that’s the pivotal point of the plot, maybe you should update your reading list.
